How to Use a Pumice Stone

A pumice stone is a natural volcanic rock that is often used to remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. Pumice stones are available in a variety of shapes and sizes, and can be found at most drugstores or beauty supply stores.

How to Use a Pumice Stone

Pumice stones are best used on damp skin, as this will help to soften the dead skin cells. To use, simply wet the stone and gently rub it over the area of skin you wish to exfoliate. Be sure to use circular motions and avoid scrubbing too hard, as this could damage the skin.

After a few minutes, rinse the area with warm water and pat dry. You should use a pumice stone no more than once or twice a week, as over-exfoliating can irritate the skin.

If you have never used a pumice stone before, it is best to start with light pressure and increase as needed.

It is also important to choose the right size pumice stone for your needs – if the stone is too large, it will be difficult to control; if it is too small, it will not be effective. Once you have found a stone that works well for you, be sure to clean it after each use and store in a dry place.
